Arts Council England Emergency Funding News

We are chuffed to share that Hiccup Theatre has received Arts Council England Emergency Support funding. We are so relieved to know that we can keep our activity going, sustain our small team and support a number of independent artists during this period.

In the spirit of openness, inspired by our friends at Milk Presents, we wanted to tell you a little bit more about what this means for us; the funding enables us to work with 15 artists and creatives across the country, with a focus on producing recorded music, storytelling, and developing our accessibility with BSL integrated content for children and their families. We are in the final stages of confirming artists and we will be announcing more information on what the project looks like soon.

We feel enormously grateful to ACE National for this support – we know many deserving companies and artists have not had the same opportunity that they need to survive and continue creating. Knowing this we feel fearful of the future of our industry, and recognise our responsibility to use this funding (£24, 962) and period of time to enhance our resilience and be better prepared for cultural shifts and the funding landscape. We pledge to share that learning with the sector, as we find our rhythm in the ever-changing world.

If you have any questions or would like to get in touch with us, please email our producer Phoebe (phoebe@hiccuptheatre.co.uk), We look forward to sharing more about this project with you soon.

Thank you,

Hiccup Theatre x
